Sale, sale, sale...

pumpkins

I went to Walmart today and noticed their Cinderella pumpkins and other gray/green pumpkins, gourds were now 25 cents a lb vs 68 cents a lb. I purchased 3 for $12 and was pleased with that price. Please DO NOT TELL ME if there is some other great sale somewhere and that I could have bought all of them for $5.

For those of you who don't know me, I have a little magazine problem. It's called not throwing them away! :) This year I let all my subscriptions go (except for a free MS Living subscription) until I purged some of my older issues. However, just the other day on my new favorite site southernsavers.com I saw a post about a Hot Magazine Sale!. Imagine my delight and surprise when I saw that I could get a year's subscription to Country Living (a favorite of mine for years!) for $5.20!!! Yes, $5.20 and for that price, I broke from my no more new magazines decision and purchased a years subscription. Check out the listings of magazines and then get the code to get an additional 50% off!

I am working on the curtains every day, in spite of a backache and a 4 year old! Here's how I make curtains...

Borrow a child for my Sweet Girl to play with and when they get tired of playing dress up, put Angelina Ballerina on Daddy's BIG SCREEN in the basement...
pop some popcorn and let them watch
while I sew as fast as I can on my 40 year old free sewing machine. :)
Tune in tomorrow and I'll show an easy-peasy wreath I made.

Thanks for the sale tips, I had already renewed my CL at a discount but not 5.20, and I will be checking out those Wal-Mart pumpkins when I head that way. Jackie

I'm a little jealous of your pumpkins---maybe a trip to Wal-mart is in order. Your comment about not telling you about a better sale is hilarious. I think that is an inside joke isn't it? ; )

I love "how you make curtains." I'm sure if I ever make curtains the TV will play a big part of it too. I can't stand to be interrupted when I finally get around to a project.

Love the pumpkin vignette. Is that on your potting bench?

Just got my new CL yesterday and it is awesome. It is probably the most fav of all the magazines that I subscribe to.

What a good mag deal! I have cut back on my subscriptions too, but even though I love the blogs I have to hold Country Living in my hand!

The picture of the two children is priceless...they look so absorbed in the movie while dressed in their "finest".

Have a good day!

Well done on the mag deal. I can't throw away the glossy mags either. I still have a couple of 'Bride' mags from twenty-one years ago!
And what would we do without the tv and video? Our unpaid babysitter. I can't tell you how many times it's come to my rescue, amusing the kids while I get on with my chores.

CL is my favorite magazine but I haven't gotten it for THAT low price!! I'll have to check out your link. I'll have to see if our pumpkins are on sale. The girls are soooo cute! It is ALWAYS much better around here when Lexi has a friend with her. She is a happy camper!

Can't wait to see the curtains.
