We All Scream for Ice Cream

With summer coming up, ice cream is just the thing. Don't you agree? But homemade ice cream even better?

How about a delish, easy, peachy concoction. You can keep the ingredients for this in your pantry at the ready. Don't forget rock salt too.

Peach Ice Cream

2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 bottle of Peach Crush
If you cannot find Peach Crush which is a carbonated drink, you can also use an orange carbonated soda. We used a Kroger Brand carbonated peach drink for this batch as we could not find Peach Crush on this store run.

Add the can of sweetened condensed milk to the bottom of the ice cream freezer. Slowly pour the Peach Crush to fill the freezer. Take a long spoon and slowly stir to mix. You want to do this slowly so that the drink keeps the carbonation.

Freeze to manufactures directions. This has a slight carbonated flavor and is very peachy and different.

How about some Chocolatey goodness. This recipe comes from Victoria's hubby, Michael.

Chocolate Ice Cream

1/2 gallon of chocolate milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix to fill line. Make up any difference with whole milk. Freeze according to manufacturers directions.

And of course vanilla. My sister Beth concocted this crowd pleaser.

Vanilla Ice Cream

2 quarts half and half
2 T. vanilla
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Stir to dissolve sugar as best you can. Pour into freezer and freeze according to manufactures directions.

Pick one, or make all three. No one will complain!

Don't forget Rhoda's Burlap party tomorrow.

I just received in the mail a copy of The Perfect Scoop which will be my bible this hot summer season. Your recipes sound so good and as soon as I buy a pair of stretch shorts with lots of Lycra I am going to hit the books and your recipes running...well maybe not running with the extra weight:)

Thank you for these recipes! We have houseguests for a week during July 4th. I've added making ice cream to my list of ideas and things to do for that week. I can't go wrong with the home made ice cream. Thanks again as they're hard to please.

Homemade icecream is absolutely delicious. Growing up my Mom made a homemade peach icecream that was the best. Now you've got me wanting some. Have a great weekend! Jackie

We used to have an ice cream maker and enjoyed using. It was always fun for the kids to wait expectantly for it to finish! Your recipes sound good - I love peach anything - it's such a summer time flavor!

I woke up early from hunger today after working last night... now I'm even more hungry with cravings for peach ice cream!!! It looks so good. Whenever my mom would make ice cream for us it would always be peach.

All three of those sound fabulous! I love sweetened condensed milk in ice cream. Makes it creamy without adding lots of fat. Just plenty of sugar!

Please don't wig-out. I normally don't comment three times when I visit a blog... but you are talking about my heart on this post. I LOVE ice cream!

Another good recipe for chocolate is:

Chocolate milk - 1/2 gallon
1 tub cool whip
1 can sweetened condensed milk

It tastes JUST like a Wendy's frosty.
