Rhoda is hosting a thrifty party again today. It is always fun to go over and take a look around at all of the wonderful thrifty finds. Make sure you also check out her beadboard wallpaper project. Fantastic!!
Time for show and tell.
I found this painting at a yard sale/flea market. They wanted $16.00 which I was not willing to pay. I went back later and either paid $8 or $10 for it---cannot remember which. (Excuse the dust---I just hung it and didn't dust it first.) : ) Loved the black and white Paris street scene and the fact that it is an oil painting. The frame is beautiful too.
It's funny, I'm not collecting Paris art on purpose, but was realized today that this is the third Paris street scene that I've bought.
Here is one of the other ones. An an original watercolor of the Arc de Triomphe that I have had for about eight years. It was $1.00.
I also have another Arc de Triomphe sketch that my hubby and I bought at a yard sale in our early married years that hangs in our bedroom.
I also found this little drawer cabinet which I have plans for. I love the color, but it really doesn't go with my house or style, so it may get a new coat of paint.
Found this a Goodwill. Love the clean lines, but can't remember for the life of me what this is called. Shelf/bracket/sconce???
I could not leave this fler de lis at Goodwill. It is actually a cardboard box but I will just paint it and use it to sit on a shelf. It was $1.01. Can't beat that.
This urn was found at a garage sale about a year ago and we just added a fresh coat of spray paint to it for a whole new lighter look. My daughter (9yo) was very upset at me for painting it. She did come to me later and said, "mom, I'm sorry I was upset about you painting the urn, It looks good." : )
Hope you are having a great Monday. It is raining here in GA and we need it. Our grass and plants were wilted and crunchy. Ick.
