In fact, go over to our give away post to see one of Victoria's recent finds. You have until Monday evening to sign up.
Vic also found this soft yellow homemade baby blanket with lovely stitching at Goodwill along with some others for $2.50.

This pillow was only .25 at a yard sale. It is from Target's simply shabby chic line. A quarter!!
Now for my finds.
I found this soup tureen and ladle a couple of weeks ago for $3.00. I was really happy with this purchase.
Ok, this is possible scary, but it is a very large enamel platter that I paid .25 cents for. I have already started a makeover on this. Honestly, the bright orange, yellow and brown flowers didn't scare me too much---I even think it would be a great serving piece for an outdoor bbq, but I am going lighter with lots of things and this is one of those.
A candlestick with a little snuffer hanging on the side. It is going to get a makeover also. My dad's father had one of these in his house when we were growing up. I can remember sitting and pretending the snuffer was the ear piece for an old phone. Paid .50 for this. More than anything for the memories.
Go on over and check out the great finds at Tales from Bloggeritaville's Thrifty Thursday
and Homebody's Thrift Store Thursday.
It is always fun to look at the great things that everyone finds.

I never, ever find tureens. I don't know if people around here don't use them or what, but I want one!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. The .25 pillow is my favorite. You just can't beat that price!
Love your thrifty finds! Love the candlestick!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone of those things would have come to my house to live - if I had found them in my yard sales. You really found some great ones...can't say which one would be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you two sisters had such a good time with each other.
Have a great weekend - shopping or doing whatever.
Hi Christina,
ReplyDeleteYou are the second lucky girl I've seen today that has found a great white soup tureen.
Thank you so much for stopping by "The Zoo". Come back and visit soon.

You know, I am beginning to think I need a soup tureen. I've never felt led to purchase a tureen but I have noticed some of them around Blogland. Girl, I think I NEED a tureen. Suddenly my gravy boat just isn't cutting it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds all - I really like the piece of yellow needle work. So sweet!
Great finds. I also rarely see soup tureens (except new) around here. I did see one at a sale not long ago, but thought - where am I going to put it, so backed off. Was not a great bargain anyway. You did good. Really like the candle holder & snuffer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting.

As soon as I saw the candlestick & snuffer I thought about our trips to Ala as kids!!! Man, that sure does bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteLove the soup tureen and the enamel platter too!
ooooh!! I collect tureens and my daughter has that bedroom set from Target! Great finds.

What a sweet baby blanket...it's kind of sad to think of all the time someone spent on that, and it ended up in a thrift store.
ReplyDeleteI would have wrestled you for that pillow!
What great finds! I thought I got a good deal on my white soup tureen until I saw yours...way to go! I'm on the lookout for more. I'd like to display about 5 of them on top of my china cabinet. It may take me awhile but I'll keep looking!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!!! I particularly like the twenty-five cent pillow and the white soup tureen!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! My mother just recently gave me a soup tureen that looks similar to yours. I had no idea what a soup tureen even was until then. Now I love them!
ReplyDeleteI love your tureen - we never see any out here. Well, I did the other day - but it was $20.00! I am hosting Flashback Friday - I hope you join me! Thanks for visiting!!
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the candlestick and I hope you do a post about how you make it over. I like the platter with the colorful flowers. I think it would be perfect for a summer get together. Happy trifting, one of my favorite actives.

Pretty little candle holder and the snuffer does look like an old telephone. I can't imagine what you will do to it . Please share your final product!
ReplyDeleteNICE FINDS! I can't wait to see what you do with them. Thanks for stopping by today! I love meeting new people!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend,
~Misti
Fun finds..I have several of those white tureens like that...see them all the time at thrift stores. Fun to decorate with.
ReplyDeleteHi there - I wanted to pass a message on to Victoria. She had a question about the chandelier in my kitchen. It's the "Molnig" chandelier from Ikea and it was only $35!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for stopping by,
AnNicole
I think it's really funny that you would pretend that it was a telephone. Who would you talk to? What would you say?
ReplyDeleteLove the soup tureen - great deal!
