I'm late; I'm late for a very important date

How about a before and after of a kitchen table for the spray paint party over at Joys of Home. I primed the table with Kilz spray primer and then used a red satin finish spray paint. I think the color was "colonial red" by American Accents, but I am not sure. It is definitely not a fire engine red.

This before picture is *not* my table. My table just looked like this one before, except that mine is round. Should I have just left this picture out? : )

My table was this color before-it even had these same chairs:

The after--of my actual table:

We do have more than two chairs, they have just been dragged away to fufill other needs for the day.

And last, here is the medallion that I showed last week. There were several chips in the plaster that ruined the original finish.

Here is the after:

I wasn't happy that my spray paint was a glossy finish. I will probably redo it if I ever get the same color or similar in satin. This was paint that I bought several years ago for another project that needed a gloss finish and I was trying to use what I had.

Well, this spray paint party thing has been fun. I love seeing what others have done.

  2. Better late than never.
I love your red table! They say the color red makes you hungry. So that's probably the very best color to pick for a table.
I used that same red on some chairs for my outdoor table. It's a great color.
I'm so glad you came to the party.

  9. LOVE the red table and the medallion. I have that same spraypaint and have used it on many things. I was so glad when they came out with a decent red that wasn't so bright. Great job!

  12. Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for visiting. My red table has been fun. We have enjoyed it.

For those of you who are not sure--
: )Just do it. I am so spontaneous. I figure if I don't like it can be repainted again. I do know that it's not such an easy decision for others though.

Thanks for stopping by. This party was so much fun.

  15. That's a beautiful table. It definitely looks like Colonial Red. I used it on something over the weekend and love the color. Not too dark, not too bright.
