I laughed out loud reading Meg's post about our recent trip to the N Ga mountains. We hit all the thrift stores and yard sales we could find and found a few cute goodies along with the scary ones she shares in her post. If you need a good laugh check it out!
Check out the lampshade I found. We just HAD to take a picture of it! It was HUGE!
Did ya notice the white plate in my hand in the picture above? I also found a platter for $1.50
I love the cracks in it...it reminds me that we don't have to be perfect ourselves to have beauty.
Okay and before I sign off for the night/morning (it's now 1am!), check out the giveaway over at Frills, Fluff and Trucks! Me thinks you will like it!!!

The plate must hold so many memories...gets you to thinking who all ate meals off of it - plus the loving hands that washed it each time.
ReplyDeleteBeen missing you all sounds like you had lots of fun! What a mega lamp shade almost as big as you are! Glad to hear you were off to having fun. Jackie
ReplyDeleteThat plate is so much better than a perfect new one.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom brought home a lamp table not too long ago. It had been her late sisters who was quite the society lady in the 60's. My Mom wanted to leave the table the wood that it was and KEEP the lampshade! Holy cow! I marched the lampshade to their garage for donation later and took the lamp table home and spray painted it black. She pouted for about a day but, now it's a focal point by a wingback chair that she sits in to read. And, the shade is sort of a champagne! Silly mom.
Hey girl, I remember when nearly ALL lamp shades were that size. It was THE SIZE for lamp shades.
ReplyDeleteFor a minute I thought you were holding the rim of a BARREL in your hand! Hehehehehehe
that lamp shade is hilarious!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love all things white~
That lampshade would be the perfect thing for a magic show. : )
ReplyDeleteI like the platter too. I noticed it this morning at your house and forgot to ask about it.
Hey, just wanted to say that I stopped by to see your blog from your link on frills, fluff, and trucks. I've been here now over an half an hour! Such great posts! I love all the great things you have found at GW. I am a goodwill junkie too! I have furnished our guest house with great GW finds! I will be following your future posts.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Traci
Gotta love those 25 cent thongs! That new kind of underwear is precisely why I must now call my favorite summer shoes, "flip-flops", according to my children...specifically my daughters. : )
ReplyDeleteThat is one ginormous lamp shade! LOL!
